About the Job

As a Cloud Security Specialist you will be supporting Vbrick's Cloud platform security and compliance activities as well supporting an integrated security plan with Vbrick's other IT units. Vbrick's Cloud platform runs in the AWS Cloud and is FedRAMP certified, with other certifications being pursued.  We are looking for a Cloud Security Specialist to help design, build, test, and deploy technical solutions and processes that will allow us to maintain a high level of customer confidence in the security of our platform and compliance with necessary laws, regulations, and industry standards. The right candidate will have hands on experience selecting and operating security and compliance tools, understanding of information security principles as applied to Cloud-hosted applications, knowledge of industry DevSecOps trends and tools, sufficient technical experience to be able to implement technical solutions in the AWS Cloud, and be able to audit and review the activities of other engineers.

This is a Production role with on-call responsibilities

What you'll do:

  • Ensure that the production Cloud service complies with FedRAMP, ISO27001, customer contractual obligations and other industry standards we have committed to.
  • Implement security and compliance architecture improvements for the Cloud environment and supporting systems.
  • Assist in the selection and implementation of toolsets to support internal information security audit, risk assessment, change reviews, standards compliance and evidence collection.
  • Create Engineering documentation and procedures for implementing and configuring tools.
  • Participate in all Agile ceremonies to implement security review and advise software engineering on the best practices for developing secure product features.
  • Conduct routine internal information security audit and periodic review activities.
  • Troubleshoot issues in security, production and other systems relating to the Cloud service, most importantly the security toolsets and processes.
  • As needed, develop scripts or programs to facilitate DevOps pipeline such as Chef, Packer, Terraform, etc
  • Support back end administration for Vbrick's Rev Cloud application and, where separation of duties permit, execute changes in the Cloud environments.

What you'll bring:  

  • 5+ years of experience with IS/IT, solutions development, software development, systems administration, and/or cloud engineering
  • Substantial portion of above experience in a production security operations and/or compliance role
  • Experience with administering and securing Windows Server, Ubuntu and CentOS to rigorous standards
  • Technical/Cloud certification(s) for AWS (preferred)
  • Good knowledge of industry standard tools for the implementation of DevSecOps, audit, risk assessment, and compliance.
  • Solid Understanding of IT environments and constraints for non-classified systems with government customers
  • Experience installing and configuring security and compliance software (preferred)
  • US Citizen (required)
  • Must be able to obtain a favorable background investigation
  • Experience with at least some of the following is desirable: git, ruby, chef, packer, bash, nginx, openssl, powershell, ELK stack, and mongodb.
