The Controller will report directly to the CFO and will be a key member of the Finance team in overseeing Vbrick's US-based and international accounting operations.  Successful candidates will have superior NetSuite skills and experience in addition to their accounting background.  This role will not only have responsibilities within Finance and Accounting but will also maintain strong relationships with the Sales, Customer Success and IT organizations through ongoing interactions in the pursuit of operational excellence.


Location: Preference for this job is to work from our office in Herndon, VA. Our employees are working remotely at this time.


What you'll do:

  • Serve as NetSuite administrator, including managing integrations with Salesforce.com
  • Oversee accounting operations, including preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements and schedules, accounts receivable/invoicing, collections, payroll, accounts payable, policy and procedures and GAAP compliance
  • Ensure adherence to accounting policies, processes and support systems, including assistance with the development and implementation of new policies as the business grows
  • Management of monthly and year-end general ledger closing activities, inclusive of balance sheet account reconciliations and variance analysis of revenue and expense accounts
  • Assist with cash management by monitoring, reporting, and analyzing ongoing cash flow
  • Responsible for technical accounting matters, financial reporting and management of the year-end consolidated financial statement audit, including interaction and correspondence with external auditors
  • Regular reporting of key business metrics
  • Enhance business reporting and assist with the annual budget process
  • Develop and monitor internal control environment while documenting and updating accounting policies and procedures
  • Continuous improvement of processes and procedures with a focus on efficiency and automation
  • Recruit, manage and develop staff
  • Manage capital expense approval and reporting process
  • Assist with commission and incentive plan compensation structure and oversee computation, accounting and payments
  • Prepare information for income, property and sales and use tax reporting
  • Develop collaborative working relationships with leaders throughout the organization

What you'll bring:

Must Have:

  • Superior NetSuite skills and experience, specifically including but not limited to:
    •  Advanced Revenue Management
    • OneWorld and Multi-currency
    • NetSuite native sales tax functionality
  • Solid understanding of SaaS business model, accounting and reporting
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, ever changing environment
  • Demonstrated ability as a self-starter with an exceptionally strong integrity and work ethic
  • Exceptional analytical, reasoning and problem-solving skills
  • Must be highly organized, able to maintain strict confidentiality, and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, management, leadership and supervisory skills
  • Proficiency with Excel
  • Bachelor's degree

Should Have:

  • At least 5 - 7 years of experience in accounting including progressive department management experience
  • In depth experience with Salesforce.com, including maintaining and enhancing integrations with NetSuite and other applications, as well as managing relationships with software vendors
  • Working knowledge and experience with revenue recognition under ASC 606
  • Active Certified Public Accountant license
  • Public accounting background with supervisory experience over audits and financial reporting

Nice to Have:

  • Working knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley
  • Experience working at both public and private companies a plus
